Case study
Shaping a bold, evidence based five year growth strategy to unlock transformational potential.
Situation
Southern Cross Travel Insurance was ready to grow, it just wasn't clear on where the best growth pathways were. SCTI wanted a rigorous process built on insights that would establish board and management confidence in their future direction, unlocking significant growth potential beyond its existing core, whilst leveraging its existing strengths and capabilities to enable future success.
Approach
The discovery work was expansive, spanning in depth customer research, market sizing across New Zealand and Australia, and competitor and global benchmarking, to build a fact base robust enough to make bold and compelling strategic choices.
Leveraging the insights, we developed the drivers of change and the core strategic problem, shaping an ambitious five year growth strategy, with new and diversified business model shifts at its heart, and a roadmap to turn it into action.
Outcome
A strategy grounded in facts, collaboratively developed by management and board, and set up to deliver meaningful growth over the coming years.
- Grounded in fact and evidence, not opinion
- Board and management strategy alignment
- A clear path forward to grow the business beyond its traditional core
- Clear divisional ownership and roadmap charting what to focus on and when
Trevor has now left us with a solid strategy, based in fact and in evidence, collectively agreed by Management and Board, and I'm excited to see it executed over the next few years.
